Recent TheeWebsite Featured Artist, Ellie Lawson has delivered a dope new single for us to download and vibe with for the weekend. The song entitled, "Strong" is reminiscent of an updated version of ballady groove-pop movement that used to rule the airwaves in the mid 90's. Ellie illustrates the emotions of empowerment that comes with moving on and living life to the fullest post-relationship. The track has a sensual mix of soul, rock and pop  that glides well along side Ellie's angelic voice and catchy lyrics, which together sounds like a British stripped down version of Shakira. Though you probably won't be seeing Ellie belly dancing at her next show, she did also deliver an electronic-dance remix to Strong produced by Tilly and Killawatz. DJ's should definitely be dropping this remix at clubs, make sure to request it next time your out in the streets, getting swerved, and making some beautiful mistakes.  Cheers.

Los Angeles local rockstars, Oh No Not Stereo, came by High Valley Studios this past week to lay down an exclusive live set for TheeWebsite's original web series, Live From the Hive. ONNS has been together as a quartet since 2007 and haven't looked back since ripping venue after venue in Hollywood, on Sunset and then the rest of the nation while apart of the Vans Warped Tour.  "Say Anything" is only the first of two Live From The Hive pieces that will be released by Oh No; you can also expect some crazy stories, high levels of intoxication and behind the scenes footage to be released later next week.

Vh1, the company who's tagline is, "Music First" has taken the initiative to officially destroy any legitimacy its brand once held within the music world with the recent release of their 100 Greatest Artists of all time list. There really is no clear person or genre to begin scrutinizing the overall lack of musical intellect that went into creating  this sus list: you could start at the fact that Jay-Z was the top ranked Hip-Hop artist over Biggie and Pac, or the fact that John Lennon got ranked outside of the Beatles but neither Andre 3000 or Big Boi made the list(they also got robbed as a group) or the fact that Frank Sinatra, Miles Davis, Howlin' Wolf, Billie Holiday, Sammy Davis Jr. and other great Jazz artist's weren't on the list?! There's no reason to dive into the deep abyss of actuality, when looking at the phrase, "OF ALL TIME", would require us to take into account music dating back to the likes of Mozart and Bach, the original creators of popular music; obviously VH1 doesn't acknowledge that music existed pre-Rock Era circa 1955,so we won't either. Outside of the embarrassment that this joke has made out of VH1, the panel specifically behind the creation of this list should be annexed from ever associating themselves with music for the rest of time, their opinions are disrespectfully ignorant.

01 The Beatles

There's one triflin' mistake in this list that can't go without a rebuttal. Michael Jackson. The King of Pop! Came third behind Bob Dylan and The Beatles. Understand Bob Dylan was a highly influential musician and major figure in civil rights, who created music that was deeply rooted in American culture at  the time, but his message and music did not have nearly the reach and influence that Michael Jackson was able to deliver. When it comes to Michal Jackson and the Beatles both acts were genius in their approach to music, creating simple yet highly intuitive and mesmerizing songs that were able to reach the masses and touch the hearts of most music lovers. Since the dawn of the Rock Age, these have been the two artists that have emerged to clearly change the way other artists after them will forever create popular music and develop songs. When really separating the two talents, it comes down to showmanship and performance. Michael was not only as big as the Beatles but his live performances were even more life changing than his recorded music. His genius didn't lie  solely in his musical abilities,it also showed in every  aspect of his character. He designed sets, gave insight on the costumes, discovered new technology to further enhance the experience of his show, every single piece of production that was essential to his final performance, Michael had direct influence on and it was always spectacular.VH1 should stick to creating more love shows for washed up acts, and not disrespecting the great musicians from the decades. That is all.
