Nicole Kidman will be decorated on Feb. 5, 2011 at the Santa Barbara International Film Festival with the Cinema Vanguard Award. The award is given to actors/actresses who take ‘artistic risks,’ and who have given ‘significant contributions to film.’ In Kidman’s case her success in taking on many different genres: mastering drama, comedy, horror, and romance-not to mention her role in ‘Moulin Rouge’- in which she performed elaborate dance numbers, and sang her own songs. Set to return to Broadway in the fall of 2011 starring in the Tennessee Williams play “Sweet Bird of Youth,” she continues to show off her natural draw to the spotlight in any and all forms. Also, she has recently received the first annual Hollywood MILF award from someone who might be me.

Tom Shadyac isn’t a household name director but you’ve seen, and most likely feel like you’ve got your tickets, tub of sodas, and pinanta of popcorns worth for the monies you’ve spent. Directing movies such as “Ace Ventura: Pet Detective,” “Liar, Liar,” “Bruce Almighty,” just to name 3 for sake of attention span, he is a true product of the Hollywood Paradox. |
